Hello everyone and welcome back to My Blurred World.
I hope you’re all doing well.
Well can you believe it? Another month has past by which means that it’s time for a post consisting of my monthly favourites.
This post is in collaboration with Simplyxalice who is a remarkable blogger. She is an amazing person and is incredibly lovely. She will also be writing a March favourites post so be sure to go and read hers also because she deservees so much more support.
I’ve decided to split my favourties into categories ranging from beauty to food, I hope you enjoy today’s post and lets get started.
The first beauty related items that I have been loving during the month of March have been these Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes. I took this photo before I used them therefore they don’t currently look this pretty (unfortunately). The brush that I have been using most out of the three is the powder brush. The bristles are extremely soft and feel very nice to the touch, the brush evenly distributes the product onto my skin which is great. I bought the three brushes you see in this photo in a set after Christmas time and I purchased it on sale for £25 which was a great bargain in my opinion as they are at least £20 each to buy seperately. This set is unfortunately no longer available (as far as I know) but if you are interested in them then again they are available to buy seperately, it’s just a matter of if you are willing to spend £20+ on one makeup brush. I would thoroughly recommend them though.
The next beauty item I’ve been loving throughout the month of March is the Soap&Glory The perfect Ten eyeshadow palette. As a visually impaired beauty enthusiast I do find it hard to find makeup products that are accessible and easy to use as some products can be too pigmented which results in me applying to much product or they’re not pigmented enough which results in me not applying enough, but this palette has the perfect amount of pigmentation to it and is very easy to blend out which is perfect for me. As the name would suggest there are ten different shades in this palette and they’re all very pretty colours. My favourite has to be the gold/copper shade called well ‘copper’ but i also adore the shade ‘Minky’ which is also a very pretty shimmer based shade. Again this was a limited edition item during the Christmas period but i believe that all shades (apart from two) are available to buy in quad palettes instead of in this one palette
Moving swiftly on to face powder. I have been particularly enjoying using the Soap&Glory ‘One heck of a blot’ powder during the last month. I don’t use this when I first apply my makeup in the morning but I do use it during the day to touch up if my face is feeling a tad oily. This just removes the shine on my skin and makes it feel less oily. It is also transparent which I prefer in a powder as it won’t disturb the colour of my foundation in any way.
The products featured in the photo above are hair related products and they are the Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner. The ingredients include organic argan oil and jasmine flower and both products smell divine. I was previously using some strawberry scented shampoo and conditioner but I much prefer these ones. My hair feels extremely soft after I use these products which is something I never really experienced with other shampoo’s and conditioners I’ve used in the past. I’ve only been using these particular products for a couple of weeks but I defnitely notice a difference in the way my hair looks and feels, I highly recommend these items.
My last beauty related favourite of the month is a perfume. This is the Elizabeth Arden Always Red perfume. I am not the best person at describing scents therefore i won’t attempt to but the way the brand describes it is like so :
‘Bright accents of red plum and passion fruit lead to a textured floral heart and rich ambery base’
…to which I have to agree with. This is a gorgeous scent which i’ve been wearing regularly throughout the month, I adore it.
There are a number of songs that I have been listening to throughout the month of March and have been absolutely loving them. Here are just a few :
- Lush Life – Zara Larsson
- Kathleen – Catfish and the bottlemen
- When we were young – Adele
- Hello – Adele
- 7 Years – Lukas Graham
- Dangerous Woman – Ariana Grande
- Worry – Jack Garrett
- Light it up – Major Lazer
- Swings and Waterslides – Viola Beach
Now I haven’t had much time to watch youtube lately but I have taken the time out of my day to watch the following people’s videos as I love them so much.
Hannah has quickly become one of my favourite youtubers. She seems like such a lovely person and she has the best sense of humour. She’s is of the same age as myself therefore I feel like i can relate to her quite often. Her videos are of amazing quality and she never fails to make me smile. She uploads all kinds of videos to her youtube channel ranging from makeup related videos to baking videos and i can’t recommend her channel enough. She deserves so many more subscribers as her channel is incredible. She’s one of the most down to earth people I watch on youtube and I just adore her.
Right then if you are interested in makeup tutorials then Hannah Renée is the girl to watch! She creates the most amazing makeup looks and is so extremely talented. As I am visually impaired it is important to me that I am able to follow someone’s instructions when it comes to makeup tutorials as I often don’t see what they are doing and I can honestly tell you that Hannah’s tutorials are the best I’ve come across. She talks through every single step in so much detail and is just incredible. As well as doing makeup tutorial related videos she also does TAG videos, hauls etc which I adore equally as much as her tutorials. She’s amazing.
Gabby has always been one of my favourite youtubers. This month I have been amused by her vlogs. Again she is so down to earth and is extremely talented. Her vlogs always make me smile and even though I don’t know Gabby, i do feel as if I’m watching a friend when i watch her videos. Along with her vlogs I do also enjoy her main channel videos which again are of amazing quality and are just generally remarkable!
The last youtuber I’m going to mention in this post is Natasha Summer. I believe that I have mentioned her on my blog previously but I want to mention her again. She is also one of my all time favourite youtubers and her videos are amazing. She uploads beauty&fashion related videos but also does the occassional lifestyle related video. She just recently hit 10,000 subscribers which she deserves immensly as her videos always brighten up my day and always make me feel happier.
During the month of March I have been attempting to eat healthier as I believe it is important to treat your body well and one of the ways of doing that is by eating healthy. There is one breakfast in particular that I have been enjoying eating during the course of the last month and this is what you see in the photo above. The breakfast consists of The Nature’s Path Gluten Free Nice and Nobbly granola and then a chopped banana on top. In my opinion this is a great way to start the day and it’s extremely delicious! I don’t top it off with a banana every single day, i will occassionally top it off with some raspberries which is equally as delicious.
The photo above features the granola I just mentioned which is one by the brand ‘Nature’s path’.and it includes blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and youghurt chunks. It’s an organic and gluten free brand which is perfect for me as I am on a gluten free diet due to being diagnosed with Coeliac disease a few years ago. I believe there is also another granola flavour available which I’m interested in trying and I’m also intrigued to discover and try other various products by the brand.
The last food items that I’m going to mention which is also the last thing I’m going to mention in this post are these ‘nakd’ bars. These are essentially healthy snack bars which are both gluten and dairy free. They taste absolutely divine and they are the perfect snack for myself if I’m feeling peckish during the day. There are an ssortment of different flavours available and although some of the names don’t resemble this they are extremely healthy. I believe that the key ingredients in these bars are dates, raisins and cashews and i honestly can’t recommend them enough.
Well that concludes my post for today everyone. Don’t forget to go and read Alice’s post as I know it’s going to be fantastic!
I hope you all enjoyed today’s post, be sure to let me know what some of your favourite things have been during the month of March.
